Here is how your donations are helping more than just the bees. We're all in this together!

Beekeeping has been shown to be therapeutic for PTSD and depression as working with thousands of stinging insects necessarily brings your attention into sharp focus in the present.
The nonprofit Bees4Vets program is open to Veterans and First Responders free of charge. After successful completion of the one-year program, students get to keep the bees and equipment.
Bees4Vets instructors teach students how to not only raise and care for the bees but how to carry the lessons of mindfulness into their daily lives.

CNBC did a wonderful video (two minutes long - check it out!) about this organization, right here in our own backyard!

Update on the Rosewood Nature Study Area
Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation (TMPF) was awarded a 30-year lease to the former Rosewood Lakes Golf Course, for the purpose of restoring the property to its
natural wetlands, preserving open space, and creating a nature study area
for public benefit.
Help Save the Bees Foundation has partnered with TMPF to install and monitor 4 native bee habitats to
learn about the species of bees and pollinators that inhabit the area
.
On Oct 23, the Rosewood Nature Study Area had their annual fall
Plantemonium
, where volunteers gathered and helped plant native plants to replace the invasive weed that has been taking over since the golf course was abandoned 10 years ago. Ray Hopper and Jennifer Fields joined with Team Leader Kevin Burls, several other volunteers, and AmeriCorps technicians in the Pollinator Garden outside the clubhouse and added some 50 new plants to the collection. Other groups spread out over the 200-acre area. Over 1500 native plants have been installed to date.
A terrific 7 min. video about the current and ongoing restoration at Rosewood Nature Study Area can be found here:
Be sure to visit the Community Projects page in the Biggest Little Bee City USA website for a photo tour of the Native Bee Habitat installation and other community projects helping our pollinators.

What a sweet deal!Eating unfiltered, unheated, raw honey produced within your area, (50-mile radius or less) is like receiving a natural anti-allergy shot! Quercetin, a component of honey, has been found in studies to reduce inflammation and pollen allergy symptoms. Raw honey also contains bee pollen and bee propolis, which boosts the immune system, and builds immunity to allergens. It is credited with being anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory. It can be blood-sugar and blood-pressure stabilizing, wound healing, and free radical reducing, Honey can also promote relaxation and restful sleep.
Here's a link to a wonderful article about this seemingly magic elixir.
